Changes to the NAF British Junior squad for the European Championships
A change has been made to the NAF Junior squad that will represent Great Britain at the 2019 FEI Junior European Championships in Maarsbergen, the Netherlands, from 10-14 July.
Unfortunately, Saffron Cresswell had a fall today at Barbury International Horse Trials resulting in concussion which means she will be unable to compete at the Europeans next weekend. She will be replaced by Elicia Miller riding her own A Sunny Bay who represented the Junior squad to win team silver in 2018.
The combinations, in alphabetical order, are as follows:
Georgia Bartlett on her own 15.3hh 13 year old gelding Spano de Nazca
Alice Casburn on Caroline Casburn’s 17hh 11 year old gelding, Topspin II
Milo Kennedy with Sophie Douglas’ 16.2hh nine year old gelding Moher Prince
Elicia Miller with her own 15.3hh 13 year old gelding A Sunny Bay
Saffie Osborne riding Lord and Lady Blyth’s 16.1hh nine year old gelding Lakantus
Leilia Paske with 16.1hh 10 year old mare Billy McFee owned by the Paske Syndicate
The British Junior squad are kindly sponsored by NAF; NAF is one of the UK’s largest and most established manufacturers of equine supplements; their products are used and highly respected by many event riders which is reflected in them also being the trusted Official Suppliers to the British Equestrian Teams promoting Clean Sport as one of their key company values.
Through their sponsorship NAF are supporting the next generation of British team riders via the Junior Programme, which helps recognise combinations for the NAF Junior team heading for the European Championships, and those aiming for the NAF National Junior Championships – which took place at Rockingham on the 17th & 18th May 2019.
