Long-list announced for Charles Owen Pony squad

British Eventing is pleased to announce the British combinations long listed for the 2019 FEI European Championships for Ponies, which take place on 15-18 August in Strzegom, Poland.

 

In alphabetical order, the combinations are as follows:

  • Daisy Amin from Gloucestershire on her own 15 year old gelding Mr Blueskies
  • Daisy Bathe from Cambridgeshire with Georgina Herrling’s 10 year old stallion SF Detroit
  • Daisy Bathe and her own 19 year old gelding Alfie XI
  • Finn Healy from Derbyshire on Ellie Healey’s nine year old gelding Midnight Dancer
  • Gini Hope from Buckinghamshire with Margaret and Simon Hopes' 12 year old gelding Leaguan Wild Boy 
  • Hattie Lloyd Townshend from Hertfordshire on her own 15 year old gelding Holiday Chase
  • Amelia Ludiman from Leicestershire on her own 11 year old gelding Tynan Mist
  • Freya Partridge from Gloucestershire with her own 16 year old gelding Master Macky
  • Jaymee Savill from Gloucestershire riding her own 12 year old mare Knockmullen Flyer
  • Iona Sclater from Hertfordshire on Iona Sclater’s 14 year old gelding Foxton Cufflynx
  • Ria Scott from North Yorkshire with Bizzy Loffet’s 13 year old mare Starflower
  • Ibble Watson from Broadway riding Erica K Watson’s nine year old mare Bookhamlodge Pennylane
  • Xanthe de Wesselow from Northumberland on Laura De Wesselow’s 10 year old mare Baramona Lass
  • Xanthe de Wesselow and Helen L Bell and Laura De Wesselow’s 10 year old mare Golden Chance Remark

The list identifies the horses and riders from which up to six combinations will be selected for the Charles Owen Pony European Championship squad.

Charles Owen generously sponsors the squad who will represent Great Britain at the prestigious European Championships for Ponies along with the Pony Trials, British National Pony Championships and the Pony Programme. The British National Pony Championship recently took place at Brand Hall Horse Trials (1-2 June) and was won by Daisy Bathe on Georgia Herrling’s SF Detroit

The Charles Owen Pony Trials take place across the country at BE fixtures to give experience to, and identify, potential horses and riders to represent GBR at National and International level. The Pony Programme is a schedule of both competition and training opportunities designed to produce a team that will represent Great Britain at the FEI European Championships as well as to coach and develop riders for pony teams in future.
