*IMPORTANT UPDATE*

We understand some members were expecting entry fees (in some cases amounting to large sums) to have been refunded by now in respect of the seven abandoned events. Claims have been submitted to the insurers and unfortunately have initially been refused, however, we are pursuing the recovery of funds on behalf of members through legal avenues. We will do all we can to make sure that members are reimbursed, and we thank you for your continued patience.

Please note that refunds can take several days to show in your account and WorldPay displays the refund on your statment at the date the entry was made.

Abandoned vs Cancelled

The Abandonment policy in place is effective from the ballot date for each event. This is because the amount of expenditure that events incur from this date on is increased significantly in most cases, and so by insuring the event fees for competitors allows events to retain those fees and cover their costs. As with all insurance policies once it comes in to affect the premium is payable to the insurer.  

This is not the case for cancelled events where the event is cancelled ahead of the ballot date and so the organiser retains no entry fees and as the abandonment is not applicable the premiums are returned together with entry fee.
