FAQs On Sport Resumption
When will entries open?
Please view the Fixtures and Results page of the website to see the entries open date for each event. Please note that there may be a much shorter time than usual between entries opening and the Ballot Date.
What is the Sport Resumption Fixtures Calendar?
We appreciate that the impact of COVID-19 has been far-reaching and as a result some organisers have made the difficult decision not to run their events as planned this year. We have been working closely with all organisers to confirm a new ‘Sport Resumption Fixtures Calendar’.
For those planning campaigns for their horses at Novice and above, the calendar remains largely unaltered (other than the cancellations that have previously been advised).
We recently announced that CCI4*-L and CCI4*-S for eight and nine year old horses have been added to Burnham Market Horse Trials, on 17-20 September. Giving members the opportunity to gain important MERs following the sad cancellation of this year’s SsangYong Blenheim Palace Horse Trials. The classes will move back to Blenheim Palace in 2021.
We are also currently seeking expressions of interest from organisers to run a CCI2*-S & 3* -S on the 26th - 27th September.
Have events been added to the fixtures list?
Yes, events have been moved in the calendar as well as new events added in order to give members a range of competition opportunities. We will continue to keep the calendar under review.
What about BE90 and BE100 Regional Finals?
Please see the latest information about BE90 and BE100 Regional Finals HERE. The Rescheduled Regional Finals, following cancellations in late 2019/early 2020 due to weather and COVID-19, will be published soon.
What is the current situation with vaccinations?
We are aware that some members will not have been able to have their horses vaccinated during lockdown. On the advice of our Chief Veterinary Officer that the risk of Equine Influenza is currently low, we will have an amnesty on the requirement for a booster within 6 months prior to the date of competition, effective from 1st July through to the end of October.
For clarity, horses competing in national classes during the 2020 season must have up to date annual vaccinations. The requirement for the horse to have had the most recent booster within the six months and 21 days prior to the competition will return for the 2021 season.
If your horse has missed the annual vaccination renewal date (i.e. 12 calendar months after the last recorded vaccination in the passport) then you will need to restart the course of injections again before competing. This means you need to have had a first and second vaccination within no less than 21 days of each other and 7 clear days after the second vaccination before the date of competition.
Those competing at FEI events will require vaccinations in line with FEI requirements.
