British Eventing’s Regional Training Academies, supported by The Howden Way, provide members, no matter what their age or ability, the opportunity to access top class training and education within the heart of their local eventing community. What’s more, if you are not a member yet, don’t worry as you can still attend two Academy sessions before taking out a British Eventing membership.
The Academies are open to everyone.
Attending the Academy closest to you comes with the added benefit of helping to build new connections in your local area, however riders are free to attend any Academy and training they wish; there are no fixed boundaries.

ENJOY LEARNING
Training with The Howden Way Regional Academies is designed to feel good. Everyone is warmly welcomed, with welfare at the heart of everything we do. Every Academy session provides the nurturing environment required for riders to learn and develop, together with a sense of camaraderie and mutual support. Training alongside other like-minded riders in your local area enables you to celebrate successes and overcome challenges together. Creating the right environment in which for our riders to grow also helps to develop role models and ambassadors in the sport.
ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS
The Academies provide a comprehensive holistic educational syllabus that has been designed to support all riders of all levels in achieving their goals, whether it be to complete a BE80 or progress up the competition levels. The syllabus is delivered by Level 3 coaches, who are dedicated to assisting each individual in identifying their aims and objectives and then working confidently towards them.

The Howden Way Regional Academies are all built around the same progressive training and educational structure, offering riders access to high quality, standardised training throughout the country. The aim is not only to help horses and riders progress and evolve, but also to create a supportive local community network that enables everyone to flourish and enjoy the sport – a community which is encouraging to others and where new friends can be made, and one where learning and training is made fun.
CHOOSE YOUR OWN PATH
The Howden Way Regional Academies provides a flexible framework, which means you are free to choose which modules you wish to progress through. There is no set pathway.
There are a wide range of modules available, that split across the three core areas of Horse, Rider and Sport.
Achievements are recorded across three levels – Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3. Coaches will sign off the completion of each module, which you will record in a specially designed workbook. Photos of your completed workbook can then be sent to the BE team, who will log your process and provide incentives.
The module content will be evolving, with new modules added throughout the year. It will include a blend of mounted and unmounted sessions, along with access to online support enabling you to train like the best, whatever level you are at!
