Organising an event requires planning and teamwork. If you are interested in establishing a new event, then you should firstly contact the Sport Team at British Eventing at sport@britisheventing.com, who will send you further information and a form to complete.
As things progress we will discuss with you the most suitable time of year or specific date for you to run the event. Negotiating dates can take time to avoid clashing with local events and other fixtures currently in the calendar.
An affiliation agreement will need to be signed, accepting the BE Rules, a copy of which will be sent to you when your event is affiliated.
British Eventing will appoint a Technical Adviser and a Steward to your new event and between them they advise on the layout of the three phases of the event. You will need to employ a Course Builder; BE can suggest names from among its Accredited Designers and Builders. The Technical Adviser will be responsible for overseeing the building. The Course Builder and Course Designer must be accredited to the relevant level (as per annex 7 of the BE Members' Handbook). As the preparations for the event progress and plans evolve, they can advise on every aspect of your event.
Helpers and Volunteers
Organising a successful event requires dedicated volunteers and helpers. Each event can need a huge number of volunteers to help the day run smoothly.
