About

British Eventing are offering four Volunteer Awards, for which you can nominate a particularly deserving helper and show your appreciation. 

After the closing date for nominations (20th February 2024), the BE volunteer committee will select a panel to judge and will announce the winners of the Volunteer of the Year Awards and presentations will be arranged at Badminton 2024.

AWARD CATEGORIES

  1. VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR - Any volunteer at an event, from the Organising Committee to a collecting ring steward, car parker or cross-country steward.  For people who have really shone in their efforts to make an event possible.
  2. YOUNG VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR - for a volunteer under the age of 25, in whatever capacity; particularly for an extraordinary or innovative contribution to the sport.
  3. FENCE JUDGE(S) OF THE YEAR in association with Badminton Horse Trials - for either a single person or a couple; the winner(s) will fence judge at Badminton the following year, with season passes for two, membership for two. This award is specifically for Fence Judges who have been exceptional in this role.
  4. BE AWARD for Outstanding Contribution to the Sport (Formerly the Horse Trials Award) - to be awarded to those who have shown immense dedication to the running and development of the sport of Eventing over an extended period of time.

Terms and Conditions

  • Those making nominations must be over 18 or, if aged under 18, must have the permission of a parent/guardian.
  • The same person cannot nominate an individual more than once, but the same person can submit nominations for more than one individual.
  • Self-Nomination is not permitted.
  • Nominations close on February 20, 2024 at midnight.
  • You do not have to be a British Eventing member in order to make a nomination or be nominated.
  • British Eventing’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • To nominate a volunteer in the 25 and under category, the nominee must be in the year of their 25th birthday or younger.
  • Nominations which are incorrect, illegible, incomplete or received after the closing date will be invalid.
  • By making a nomination you agree to be contacted by BE with regards to the BE Volunteers of the Year award.
  • No nominations will be publicised until permission is given by the nominee.
