The Novice Restricted Championship is an exciting true Novice Championship included in the British Eventing calendar.
What level is the Championship held at?
This Championship is a true Novice test taking place over a Novice cross country course.
Who can compete?
In keeping with the grassroots nature of the Championship, riders must not have finished in the top 25% of an Intermediate class in the current or preceding five years, and not completed an Advanced class in the current or preceding 10 years.
Horse and rider restrictions apply; to read the full rules please see the BE Member Handbook and Rules.
How can I qualify?
The qualifying period runs from 1 July each year to the 30 June in the following year, with the Championship taking place in the succeeding August.
Horse and rider combinations must finish in the top 15 percent at any Novice, Open Novice, Intermediate Novice, CCI2*-S or CCI2*-L during this period, excluding Under 18 Novice classes and Pony Trials. Alternatively, combinations that have achieved 4 Double Clear results in the qualifying period have gained qualification for the Novice Restricted Championships.
