Scottish & Welsh Championships

Please see the full rules and eligiblity requirements in Annex 6 of the BE Rules and Members' Handbook HERE.  This page is a guide only to qualifying for the these Championships. 

 

Scottish National Championships

Hosted at Blair Castle International Horse Trials in Perthshire, the Scottish National Championships see riders from across the region compete from BE90 to CCI4*-S for the National Scottish title at each level. 

 

Scottish Novice, Intermediate and Open Championships

The Scottish National Novice Championship welcomes all riders qualified to compete at CCI2*-L, for the Intermediate Championships qualification is at CCI3*-L level and for the Scottish Open Championships combinations must be qualified to compete at CCI4*-S. The Scottish National Champion at each level will be the winner of each class with a special prize for the highest placed Scottish rider.

Welsh National Championships

The Novice Welsh National Championships runs at Intermediate Novice level.  

Eligible horses and riders can qualify for the Championships by:

  • Any combination placed 1st through 10th in a Qualifying Class in Wales  OR
  • A Horse owned or ridden by a resident of Wales who has been placed:
    o 1st through 10th at any Qualifying Class within Great Britain
    o Top 20% at any CCI2*L
